How would I describe Michelle? Resolute, self-disciplined and generous of time and spirit. How will I remember Michelle? As a great mother who was at ease in company, any company. I will remember her as a fighter in the truest sense: willing to personally sacrifice many of life's pleasures in an effort to maintain her life. Regretfully though this perseverance and grit proved to be insufficient against an unfair and indiscriminate disease which made no allowances for Michelle's spirit and fight. It was as if the harder she fought, the harder it fought back. And what now? A huge Michelle size chasm rests in our lives. I did not know you well Michelle but what I do know is: you will be sorely missed by all whose lives you touched. May your girls tread in your wake and personify your legacy of compassion, resilience, determination and love.
